Travelling to and from school

We are a local inclusive school and expect our catchment area to be around the Highfield and Grove Hill areas. This means that our school is within walking distance for the majority of our pupils. We therefore strongly encourage our parents to take this short walk to school in order to drop off their children. We actively encourage all in the school community to walk, cycle and scoot to school wherever possible. This avoids congestions in the road outside of the school and keeps all our children safer.

If you do need to drive, please avoid parking close to the school entrance and please be considerate of our neighbours, never blocking driveways, nor parking too close to junctions.

If you or your child are disabled and require a closer space, we do have a limited number of parking spaces available near to the school entrance. Please contact the office manager if you require use of one of these.

Morning Drop Off

We operate a soft start to our day. The school gate will be opened at 8.30am and children may go straight into their classrooms. The gate will be locked at 8.45am sharp. Any children coming in after this time will need to use the main entrance and will need to be signed in by a parent.

For those requiring wraparound care, our Kidzone Childcare facility, is available from 7.30am and after school until 6pm. Please book directly with the providers. More information is available on this website. Please note: Providers are not part of the school therefore have their own processes and procedures relating to safeguarding.

Timings of the School Day

7:30 am Kidzone Childcare opens

8.30 am to 8.45 am arrival for core school day

3.00 pm departure for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils

3.15 pm departure for Key Stage 2 pupils (Years 3 to 6)

4.00/4.15 pm departure for children in extended learning clubs

3.00 pm to 6 pm Kidzone Childcare.
